Emergent Works


Emergent Works is a nonprofit organization that teaches formerly incarcerated people to code so that they may start high-paying careers in tech.

Alexandra founded it in 2016 (then named “Code Cooperative”) and was its CEO until January 2021. Emergent Works has received a $1 million grant from Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s Start Small Fund and a multi-million dollar grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
